Join us on a kayak clean up to collect marine debris in Mcleods Creek (Clyde River) and help log the data into the Tangaroa Blue Australian Marine Debris Initiative database.
The data we collect will be used to identify the source of marine debris pollution in our area so that we can help stop it entering the waterways in the first place!
IMPORTANT: This tour involves getting in and out of the kayak and navigating through shallow water and mangrove roots. You must wear enclosed shoes that will get wet.
The tour will run for 2.5 hrs: 30 minutes briefing and gear set up, 1.5 hr paddle and rubbish collection, 30 minutes counting and data (optional).
Beginner paddlers and novice rubbish collectors welcome!
BYO water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, enclosed shoes, long sleeves.
We provide kayak and safety equipment, gloves and clean up bags.
Meeting location: South Side Boatramp on Clyde Street, Batemans Bay (South Side of the bridge).
